- Donation expected to help 10 evacuation centres housing over 4,500 flood victims
- Malaysians can also donate amounts ranging from RM1 to RM500 to 9 flood relief NGOs on LazadaForGood
Standing in solidarity with the local community, Lazada Malaysia has donated nearly 30,000 units of flood relief supplies to 10 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) that are housing over 4,500 flood victims. Running in conjunction with the donation, Lazada is also partnering with 9 local non-profit organisations (NGOs) to raise funds on LazadaForGood to provide further support for the families, neighbourhoods, and even animals displaced by the floods.
The 30,000 units of flood relief aid contributed by Lazada consist of dry rations, bottled water, toiletries, blankets, personal hygiene items, baby diapers, COVID-19 test kits, and more, which have been handed over to the Selangor government. The flood relief necessities will then be immediately distributed across 10 PPS in Selangor, including:
- PPS Sekolah Rendah Integrasi Tengku Ampuan Fatimah
- PPS Masjid Bandar Bukit Raja
- PPS Sekolah Menengah Klang Utama
- PPS Pangsapuri Permai Bukit Kuda
- PPS Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Binjai
- PPS Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Meru
- PPS Masjid Bukit Kapar
- PPS Dewan Orang Ramai Tok Muda
- PPS Sekolah Rendah Agama Sungai Serdang
- PPS Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Kuching
Malaysians nationwide can also do their part to support their fellow countrymen in need by donating to 9 official flood relief NGOs currently on LazadaForGood, Lazada’s digital giving platform. Donors can choose to donate amounts ranging from RM1 to RM500 to any of the participating NGOs, including Mercy Malaysia, Malaysian Red Crescent Society Malaysia, Islamic Relief, The Lost Food Project, Hospis Malaysia, MyFundAction, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Zoo Negara, and NGO Hub. The cash donation will then be used to procure essentials and help fund flood relief efforts.
To encourage and give thanks for the good deeds of the rakyat, all donors of RM30 and above to any of the flood relief NGOs on LazadaForGood, from now until the end of January, will receive 300 LazCoins, which can be redeemed for free gifts, discount vouchers, discounts at checkout, exclusive offers, and more*.
