Job Description
You will manage a centralized regional payroll team (HRSSC APAC - Payroll) based in Kuala Lumpur, MY and work closely with our payroll vendors, to ensure our payroll expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time.

You will also be the main lead for the Payroll Centralisation Project - a project to consolidate common processes, works and tasks from the countries, and be performed by the HRSSC APAC - Payroll Team to ensure: consistent and quality output, optimised stakeholder experience, ease of governance for payroll processes, and reduce business risk exposure. This project is currently in its final stage with one country (ID) left to centralize.

A big part of your job will be to manage the HRSSC APAC - Payroll Team and liaise with other professionals. Our ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll administration and in-depth knowledge of payroll regulations and practices. We value integrity, strong organizational skills and effective team managers/players. Your goal will be to ensure our payroll operations are compliant, efficient and current.

[Responsibilities]
- Lead and manage the Payroll Centralisation Project - from initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, to closing
- Directing and managing payroll managers to ensure our payroll expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time.
- Lead and manage the centralized regional payroll team (HRSSC APAC - Payroll) and use existing resources (people, policies/processes and technologies) to process payroll transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, contributions, deductions, taxes and third-party payments) for all in-scope countries
- Support your manager in all payroll related matters and responding to questions/requests from senior management
- Oversee monthly preparation of time-and-attendance and payroll master data and instructions
- Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, promotions)
- Facilitate and support all payroll tool and system upgrades
- Oversee and ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
- Facilitate and support all payroll-related audits - internal and external
- Oversee and facilitate works with auditors for payroll tax audits
- Supervise and coach the payroll managers
- Facilitate and support collaboration with Human Resources and finance/accounting teams
- Oversee preparation of relevant, consistent, complete, accurate and timely payroll reports and dashboards
- Facilitate and support resolution of payroll-related issues
Job Requirements
- 10+ years proven experience as a payroll director or similar role
- Good command of English (written and spoken) is a must
- Current knowledge and experience in project management
- Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws, for some if not all in-scope countries
- Excellent understanding of multi-country, multi-location payroll and taxes
- Familiarity with payroll software, HRIS and MS Office (specifically Excel)
- A keen eye for details
- An analytical mind and good math skills
- Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
- Organizational and leadership skills
- BSc/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
- Professional certification (e.g. CPP, CPM) is a plus
- Fluency in Chinese/Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and/or Bahasa Indonesia is a plus
