Data is at the heart of everything we do at Lazada. The Data team, guided by Big Data analytics, automates and integrates Lazada's data acquisition and platform management to provide solutions to the business challenges faced by our buyers and sellers. This ultimately shapes our overall business.

Data Science 

Our dedicated team of data scientists and machine-learning engineers harness the power of data science techniques – from deep learning to natural language processes – to improve Lazada's offerings. Leveraging data-driven insights and Alibaba's Research & Development platform, we provide intelligent recommendations and furnish business insights that improve products and services such as logistics, wallets and payment, marketing solutions, livestreaming and more.


The Product team is driven by both passion and a strong sense of entrepreneurship in creating unique user experiences and building the top consumer marketplace in Southeast Asia. Through Lazada's unique logistics and payments capabilities, as well as Alibaba's leading technologies, the team is constantly exploring and delivering a wide range of products to drive improvement across the customer and seller journey. This covers search and recommendations, social, gamification, advertising & marketing and payments among others.

User Experience Design (UED)

Lazada’s User Experience Design team brings together a variety of disciplines to ensure the best possible experience of our platform. Our UX researchers, UX designers and creatives which include both product and campaign designers come from backgrounds as varied as psychology, computer science, human computer interaction, engineering, and industrial design. Their collective experiences, combined with user-centred research that guides design decisions allows the team to create frictionless shopping experiences and products while supporting business operations with their design expertise.
